For the second time this month,
a home invader was shot dead by a resident while breaking into a Topeka, Kansas apartment. Each incident was ruled self-defense, and no charges were filed. That's two less criminals roaming the streets and looking for places to rob. There's no telling what might have happened had those apartment residents been unarmed. Unlike in some countries where self-defense is penalized and the populace disarmed, would-be home invaders in the U.S. have to fear being shot. That's a good thing.
Yeah, or just make sure you're armed if you're robbing people on Topeka. I recommend going during the day, when most people are at work.
ReplyDeleteQuestion: if the state put people to death for robbery, would that be justice? Just curious, don't jump all over with me your Nazism, I support your right to compensate for your tiny penis.

ReplyDeleteBeing armed doesn't protect you against being shot. Most criminals who risk breaking into homes tend to be armed anyway. That's why it's helpful if owners are able to defend themselves. I know that might be a difficult concept for you to grasp.

Amazingly enough, not all criminals take your advice. Some break in when people are home. And some do things like torturing the occupants for money -- see the previous post. Personally I'd prefer they were shot dead as opposed to getting a chance to harm an innocent victim.
"Question: if the state put people to death for robbery, would that be justice?"
No, the death penalty isn't a reasonable punishment for theft. But a home invasion isn't mere theft, it's an aggressive violation of personal property with major potential for violence against the home owner. And a person defending his property isn't the state anyway, so your question is a strawman to this particular case.

Supporting the right of homeowners to defend themselves, and being glad that criminals were stopped obviously has nothing to do with "Nazism." And I'm making a comment on a news story, not "compensating" for anything.
