Medical Update

As I posted a couple of days ago, my wife is in the hospital after passing out a couple of times. She had a cardiac catheterization today, and no artery blockage was found. So that was good. Unfortunately, they still don't know what caused her to pass out, and are reluctant to release her. I'm not sure what the next step is since I haven't gotten to talk to her main doctor today. But it looks like more tests.

  1. Thanks for the update! For what it's worth, I've known not one but two late thirties-aged women who have recently undergone major, invasive heart procedures with great results and amazingly short recovery periods. Modern U.S. medicine is a marvel. Let's hope it doesn't get monkeyed with too much!

  2. Speaking of medical marvels... The catheterization procedure used something called Mynx. They handed me a brochure on it. It's a "bio-inert sealent" that actually closed the artery and sealed it after they did the catheterization. It dissolves on its own after 30 days. Apparently it's comprised of 95% water. With this stuff they can open up a major artery, and then seal it back up. and you can be up and around in no time.

As of now they seem to have ruled out the heart as the factor causing the blackouts. But, that means it is something else. What we don't yet know.
